Uralla Shire Council Library
Uralla Shire Council Library aims to be a place of inspiration for young and old and holds a strong collection of prized local history books and pamphlets. The Library provides a range of services to library members and a dynamic library space that includes access to various facilities.
Library members have access to a wide selection of books, DVDs and CD’s as well as computers, the internet, a fax machine and photo copiers. The Gallery space located in the large foyer, often contains diverse events and exhibitions. Library staff members do encourage reading for all ages and provide free book groups.
Check the website for fun holiday activity programs for school age children. The library is open 7 days a week and is closed on public holidays. The Library uses sustainable energy direct from the sun and is located next to the Visitor Information Centre on the main street of Uralla.

People wishing to become library members can register to join the Library online at www.cnl.nsw.gov.au. Registration will be completed in person by presenting identification to Library staff who will then issue a membership card. By clicking on www.cnl.nsw.gov.au and logging on using the membership card number, members can access the library catalogue online, extend library borrowing times, download e-books and research databases (educational and law.)

Events in the Gallery
The Gallery is utilised for cultural and environmental events and multimedia exhibitions.

House Bound Service
Delivers books to people who are physically unable to visit the library. Members can call the Library for books they wish to borrow and the House Bound service provides free delivery of the books to their homes. The deliveries are restricted to the Uralla town. Arrangements can be made for carers to pick up books from the library on members’ behalf.
Holiday Activity Program
The library is part of THE SUMMER READING CLUB. This is available to all children of reading age. Small incentive rewards along the reading journey. Each book earns a ticket into a final prize draw at the end of teh holidays.
Uralla History Hub
The Uralla History Hub is a new facility for researchers of local and family history. The Hub is in the early stages of development and resources are currently limited. It does provide access to online records via ancestry.com, over 40 local tales recorded as part of the Uralla Stories Project, and historical Uralla newspapers on microfilm.
Researchers are invited to donate copies of Uralla Shire related material for addition to the collection and volunteers are welcome to assist with development of resources.
