Uralla Australia Day Celebrations

The community is invited to welcome the Australia Day Ambassador, Mr Steve Widders, and to celebrate Australia Day in Uralla on Sunday, 26th January 2020.

The Street Procession commences at 11:00am along Bridge from the Park Street corner and proceeds via Hill Street to Alma Park. The parade will include the Armidale Pipe Band, fire brigades, vintage machinery and cars, Uralla's "Tribute to Tradies", and Mr Steve Widders, motivational speaker, as the Uralla Australia Day Ambassador.

Children are invited to participate in the annual Decorated Bike Competition for the chance to win cash prizes. Bikes will take part in the street procession for judging.

Following the street procession will be the Official Ceremony at Alma Park including flag raising, the National Anthem, Australian Citizenship Ceremony, award presentations, and address by the Ambassador, Mr Steve Widders sponsored by the Australia Day Council of NSW and the National Australia Day Council. The official plaque naming rotunda the "Arnold David Goode Memorial Rotunda" will also be unveiled during the ceremony. 

The Uralla Australia Day Committee is pleased to introduce a new initiative, the Best Decorated Walker Competition. Entrants are to assemble in front of the Alma Park rotunda following the performance by the Armidale Pipe Band.

Uralla Australia Day Activities and Entertainment commence following the Official Ceremony and will include a thong throwing competition, gumboot throwing competition, lolly scramble, a jumping castle, merry-go-round and face painting for children. There will also be refreshments, barbeque, tea, coffee, damper, sandwiches, cakes and slices.
