Construction on the Uralla Visitor Information Centre (VIC) improvement project is now complete, and was officially re-opened to the public on 4 June 2021.

The VIC improvement project was jointly funded by both State and Federal Government funding streams, with a commitment from the NSW Government’s Drought Stimulus Package of $370,000 and funding of $130,000 provided by the Australian Government’s Drought Communities Extension Programme.

Project Overview

The scope of works for the Uralla Visitor Information Centre (VIC) improvement project included internal and external renovations.

Internal works consisted of integrating existing vacant space into the visitor services area and refreshing the interior by removing unnecessary internal walls. These works also provided a flexible space which can accommodate additional pop up retail, promotional displays and activities.

The VIC’s kitchen facilities will also get an upgrade to provide a more attractive rental space for casual pop up retail operators or other promotional activities.

External works of the project included refreshment of the exterior appearance of the building and improvement of the VIC’s connection to the adjacent Porter Park and the Uralla Library. The grounds of the VIC also benefitted from an upgrade with the installation of a pergola, landscaping works, and a native plant garden.
