Roads in the Uralla Shire

Uralla Shire Council is responsible for the maintenance of 452km of sealed roads and streets, 477km of unsealed roads, 42 road bridges, 36 culverts, 9 floodways, and 4 pedestrian bridges.

Council is continually reforming, grading and resealing many of its local roads, to improve drainage, road safety and trafficability. All local roads are maintained by Council using both funds made available by the Commonwealth and NSW State Governments as well as locally raised revenue.

Bridges

There are 42 road bridges in Uralla Shire. As at October 2018 the final timber bridge in the Shire has been upgraded to concrete.

Causeways

During periods of greater rainfall, there is the possibility that some local roads will become inundated at causeways which are posed with depth markers to advise motorists of water depths.
