Uralla Street Store gears up for non-profits’ fundraising through 2021

Published on 04 January 2021

The Uralla Community Street Store is set to deliver another year of fundraising opportunities for community groups and non-profit organisations in the Uralla CBD.

The Uralla Community Street Store is an important avenue for Council to facilitate community capacity building and provides fundraising opportunities for local non-profit and community groups throughout the year.

On behalf of the Uralla Shire community, Council invests over $12,000 annually to make the Community Street Store available to non-profit and community groups in order to facilitate community capacity building through this fundraising opportunity.

Groups use the Street Store frontage free of charge to raise funds and awareness of the group’s activities.

The schedule for 2021 has now been published and distributed to the community groups who have booked a week in the 2021 calendar year.

Uralla Shire Council Mayor, Cr Michael Pearce said he was looking forward to another year of offerings at the Uralla Community Street Store.

“Council is proud to be able to support our local community groups through the Community Street Store.”

“The Street Store is a fantastic opportunity for non-profit community groups to fundraise for their activities, and has become a vital point of social connection in our community.”

“There are still a few weeks which haven’t been reserved in 2021, so I would encourage any groups who either haven’t applied or who would like to secure a second week to get in touch with Council as soon as possible,” Mayor Pearce said.

Council established the Uralla Community Street Store in 2007 as a way for local non-profit groups to raise funds for their activities during the year. Council maintains the Street Store and facilitates community groups’ use of the store free of charge.

The 2021 Schedule has been published on the Uralla Community Street Store page on the Council website.

Community groups wishing to apply for one of the remaining unallocated weeks should submit their application to council@uralla.nsw.gov.au.
