Community Grants Program Now Open

Uralla Shire Council’s Community Grants program is open for community groups and organisations to apply for grants of up to $3000 for eligible projects, activities, or events. 

Uralla Shire Council Mayor, Cr Michael Pearce expressed his enthusiasm for the opportunities this grants programs presents for the Uralla Shire community.

“Our biannual Community Grants Program is one of the highlights for myself and all the Councillors to be able to assist the fantastic work of our community organisations each year”, Mayor Pearce said.

“This year will be especially important with many of our groups and organisations needing to change the way they meet and deliver projects with the current COVID-19 pandemic”.

The Community Grants Program provides financial support to community groups and organisations to undertake projects, run activities and events or purchase items which benefit the Uralla Shire community under the following categories:

  • Community development
  • Arts and cultural development
  • Social services
  • Environmental initiatives
  • Sport and recreational activities
  • Educational support

Uralla Shire Council General Manager Ms Kate Jessep is encouraging groups to get in touch with Council if they have any questions or need assistance with the application process.

“In these challenging times it is more important than ever for our local community groups and organisations to receive funding support to further the amazing work they do”, Ms Jessep said.  “We are here to help and I’d encourage any groups applying for funding to let us know if they have any questions regarding the application process”.

Individuals can also apply for a Community Grant for up to $300 any time of year, provided that the application is submitted at least four weeks prior to the commencement of the project or activity.
