Uralla Shire Council manages parking to support safe, efficient access for residents, businesses, and service providers, while maintaining the amenity and functionality of our town centres and public spaces.

Parking Fine Reporting

In accordance with the Fines Amendment (Parking Fines) Act 2024 and the Fines Amendment (Parking Fines) Regulation 2025, Uralla Shire Council is required to report on parking fines issued each quarter.

Background on Legislative Changes

The NSW Government’s reforms to the parking fine system, which came into effect on 1 July 2025, require councils to:

  • Attach a parking fine or notification to the vehicle (except in limited circumstances).
  • Provide photographic evidence of the offence to Revenue NSW.
  • Issue fines within seven days of the offence if no notification was attached.
  • Publicly report data on parking fines issued.

These changes aim to restore fairness and transparency to the parking fine system across NSW.

Uralla Shire Council will continue to monitor the implementation of these reforms and provide quarterly updates as required.
