Welcome to McMaugh Gardens
McMaugh Gardens is a Commonwealth approved, fully accredited, not-for-profit residential aged care facility. Uralla Shire Council is the approved provider.
McMaugh Gardens is situated close to the centre of Uralla where you can enjoy alfresco dining or sit inside in one of the cafes, browse through the boutique shops and explore the many historical features of the town and surrounding areas.
McMaugh Gardens has 35 permanent rooms and 1 respite room providing accommodation in pleasant and peaceful surroundings. All units have their own ensuite. A number of units have their own balcony and others have a bay window positioned to capture the sun.
You will feel secure in the knowledge that the Aged Care Quality and Safety Commission supervises and regulates McMaugh Gardens’ standards and quality of care. We base our philosophy and care on the Aged Care Quality Standards.
McMaugh Gardens consists of five separate blocks joined by glass covered walkways that provide you with wonderful views of the gardens from any of the light filled seated areas. All residential areas have large lounge and communal areas for your relaxation and enjoyment.
Accommodation is available for aged persons currently assessed as eligible for residential care. We offer “ageing in place” with 24 hour care at our facility so you can remain at McMaugh Gardens with full support to adapt to any care changes that may develop.
In the Administration block you can join in with other residents in the larger communal dining and lounge room. There is a well equipped kitchen where all your meals are prepared fresh on site. You also have access to a well stocked library, craft and activity room, hair salon and Chapel.
There is free WiFi throughout the facility for your convenience and all rooms have telephone and TV access ports. Emergency call facilities are located above each bed and in the bathroom if you require emergency assistance. Emergency call facilities are also available in the communal areas.
At McMaugh Gardens you will be able to join in the regular outings into the community – to concerts, school visits, bus trips, lunches, coffee and shopping to name a few. There is a weekly activity program prepared by residents and staff so you can plan your participation. For your enjoyment there are regular visits to the facility by entertainers and weekly visits with one of the schools during school term.
Every person has basic human needs and as a resident you are entitled to have those needs met and to have a genuine opportunity for life to be meaningful. You are encouraged to maintain meaningful relationships and encouraged to maintain or develop positive attitudes to your own well being. There are opportunities provided to relate to other people and to be involved in activities of your own personal interest or sit back and relax in the privacy of your own room with views of the beautiful gardens. Your rights to personal decision making, freedom of choice and independence are recognised and valued at McMaugh Gardens
Your services include accommodation, meals, room cleaning, laundry service, activities, clinical care and all personal care requirements provided by trained staff.

You have access to visiting Allied Health Services if required including:
- Speech Pathology
- Podiatry Services
- Hearing Services
- Optometry Services
