Uralla Landfill and Community Recycling Centre

The Uralla Landfill and Community Recycling Centre is located on Tip Road, off Rowan Avenue, in Uralla.

Operating hours

The Uralla Landfill is open Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 8:00am – 4 pm; and on Saturday and Sunday from 9 am – 2 pm.

The Uralla Landfill  is closed to the public on Wednesdays and on the Christmas Day, Good Friday and Anzac Day public holidays.

24-hour recycling drop off point

A ‘hole in the wall’ recycling station is available for use at the front of the facility 24 hours a day. Please do not deposit large household items outside the facility when it is closed.

Community Recycling Centre

The Community Recycling Centre is a permanent drop-off centre for common household problem wastes that can’t be collected via council kerbside waste and recycling collection services. Residents can drop off problem wastes at the centre free of charge all year around.

The Uralla Community Recycling Centre accepts paint, gas bottles, fire extinguishers, motor oils, other oils, car batteries, household batteries, smoke detectors, fluoro globes and tubes, and polystyrene. 

Only household quantities of these materials are accepted. As a guide, this a maximum container of 20 litres or 20 kilograms for each waste type.

The Uralla Shire Council Op Shop

Household items in good condition can be resold through the Op Shop. Council cannot accept used electronics, cots or mattresses for resale.

Computerbank New England (CBNE)

Council is pleased to partner with Computerbank New England to help divert e-waste from landfill and provide refurbished computers at minimal cost to the community.

Residents can donate unwanted computer items to CBNE at the Uralla Landfill. More information on ComputerBank is available at their website.

Other services

Residents may also dispose of e-waste items and appliances; metal waste; tyres; glass; green waste; dead animals; mattresses; furniture and general household waste. Asbestos can also be disposed of at the Uralla Landfill, please visit our Asbestos Removal and Disposal page for further information.

Bundarra Landfill and Recycling Station

The Bundarra Landfill and Recycling Station is located off Bingara Road and is open Monday, Thursday and Friday from 8 am – 4 pm; and on Sunday from 9 am – 3 pm. The Bundarra Landfill is closed to the public on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Saturdays, and on Christmas Day, Anzac Day, and Easter Public Holidays.

Sorted household recycling can be deposited at the recycling station at the Bundarra Council Depot at any time.

Kingstown Waste Transfer Station

The Kingstown Waste Transfer Station is located off Bendermeer Road and is open Wednesdays 8:30am - 3:30pm and Saturdays 10am - 2pm.

The transfer station is closed on Christmas Day, Anzac Day and Easter Public Holidays.

Kentucky Recycling Station

The Kentucky Recycling Station is a 24 hour service for domestic recyclables only. The station is provided as a series of bins located on Dorlie Lane in Kentucky.

Domestic recyclables are household recyclables including paper/cardboard, glass bottles and jars, metal tins and cans, and certain plastics. Please visit our Recycling page for further information.
