Kentucky Recycling Station

The Kentucky Recycling Station is located at Dorlie Lane, Kentucky and operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.


Recycling Services

The Kentucky Recycling Station accepts domestic recyclables only. 

The following items are accepted at the Kentucky Recycling Station:

  • Paper, magazines and cardboard
  • Hard plastic bottles and containers from the kitchen, bathroom, and laundry
  • Glass bottles and jars
  • Steel, tin and aerosol cans (clean/empty, plastic lid removed)
  • Aluminium cans, foil, and trays (clean)

Paper & Cardboard

Paper & Cardboard

  • Cardboard boxes (please remove staples and flatten)
  • Cardboard sleeves from food or other packaging, e.g. tubes from toilet roll
  • Other boxes – cereal boxes, cling wrap boxes (with the metal tear strip and plastic removed)
  • Newspapers, catalogues, magazines, junk mail
  • Clean food containers or packaging
  • Drink cartons without foil lining, e.g. juice and milk cartons (please rinse and remove lids)
  • Envelopes with windows, but not padding
  • Gift wrap – non metallic (please remove plastic bows and other materials)
  • Greeting cards
  • Shredded paper
  • Telephone directories
  • Office paper

Plastic

  • Hard plastic bottles, empty (e.g. bleach or detergent, fabric conditioner)
  • Fruit punnets and trays
  • Plastic tubs, clean (e.g. Margarine tubs, yoghurt pots - please remove lids)
  • Milk bottles
  • Mineral water bottles, soda bottles
  • Clean plastic pots
  • Shampoo and dish detergent bottles

Glass

Glass 

  • Bottles (juice, mineral water, soda, wine)
  • Jars (e.g. jam jars, pasta sauce)
  • Light bulbs

Please remove all lids and ensure the container is clean. Drinking glasses, window glass, mirror glass, Pyrex dishes, and broken glass is not accepted.

Metal

Aluminium, Tin & Steel

  • Aerosol cans (must be empty, plastic lid removed)
  • Aluminium drink cans
  • Aluminium foil, clean and scrunched into a ball (e.g. yoghurt foil lids, Easter egg wrapping)
  • Aluminium trays, clean
  • Biscuit tins
  • Food tins (e.g. tinned food, biscuits, sweets, pet food)
