Where do I buy a wheelie bin? How much do they cost?

Wheelie bins can be purchased from Uralla Shire Council by telephoning (02) 6778 6300.

 240L Wheelie Bin - $88.00 each
140L Wheelie Bin - $78.00 each

What are delivery fees outside of normal collection routes?

Delivery within 5km of Uralla and Bundarra town areas: $15.00 per return trip
Delivery within 5-15km of Uralla and Bundarra town areas: $20.00 per return trip
Delivery beyond 15km from Uralla or Bundarra town areas (maximum 30km): $25.00 per return trip

What day is my kerbside service?

Unless otherwise notified, services are provided on the following days every day of the year, including Public Holidays:

Invergowrie, Arding, and Saumarez Ponds: Mondays
Bundarra: Tuesdays
Uralla: Wednesdays

I don't live in one of these areas, can I get a kerbside service? 

If you live outside Invergowrie, Arding, Saumerez Ponds, Bundarra or Uralla and would like to know if a kerbside waste service is available for your property, please contact the Uralla Shire Council Waste Operations Team Leader at the Uralla Landfill on (02) 6778 3558.

Kerbside services are available in some circumstances, and upon prior arrangement, for residents living in other areas of the Shire.

What are the landfill opening hours?

Uralla Landfill and Community Recycling Centre, Tip Road (off Rowan Avenue):

Mondays: 8:00am - 4:00pm
Tuesdays: 8:00am - 4:00pm
Wednesdays: Closed
Thursdays: 8:00am - 4:00pm
Fridays: 8:00am - 4:00pm
Saturdays: 9:00am - 2:00pm
Sundays: 9:00am - 2:00pm

The Uralla Landfill and Community Recycling Centre is closed on Christmas Day, Good Friday and Anzac Day Public Holidays.

Sorted recyclables may be deposited at the recycling wall to the left of the gate to the centre at all times.

Bundarra Landfill, Bingara Road:

Mondays: 8:00am - 4:00pm
Tuesdays: Closed
Wednesdays: Closed
Thursdays: 8:00am - 4:00pm
Fridays: 8:00am - 4:00pm
Saturdays: Closed
Sundays: 9:00am - 2:00pm

The Bundarra Landfill is closed on Christmas Day, Anzac Day and Easter Public Holidays.

Sorted recyclables may be deposited at the Bundarra Depot at all times.

Kingstown Waste Transfer Station, Bendermeer Road:

The Kingstown Transfer Station is closed on Christmas Day, Anzac Day and Easter Public Holidays.

Recyclables may be deposited in identified recycling areas.

Can I get a kerbside green waste service? 

The Greenwaste collection service is available as an opt-in service for residents in Uralla township only. To avail of the service residents will need to pay the 2018-2019 Financial Year service fee of $82 and purchase a bin. The annual service fee is charged on pro rata basis.

Residents can sign up for a green waste service through the Uralla Shire Council office on (02) 6778 6300.

Where can I recycle my mobile telephone?

Mobile Muster bins are located at:

  • Uralla Landfill and Recycling Centre
  • Bundarra Landfill
  • Uralla Shire Council Administration building
  • Kingstown Waste Transfer Station

Can I recycle plastic bags?

Clean plastic bags are recyclable at the Uralla Landfill and Community Recycling Centre. Do not put plastic bags in your yellow kerbside bin.

You can recycle soft plastics like bread bags, biscuit and confectionery packets, frozen food/rice/pasta plastic bags and old reusable bags through Red Cycle recycling bins placed at your local Coles outlet.
