As part of Volunteers Week 2025 celebrations, the Uralla Shire community came together at the beautifully restored Courthouse to recognise and thank the incredible volunteers who give their time, energy and heart to support others across our region.

Hosted in the spirit of appreciation, the Volunteer Ceremony shone a spotlight on the often-unsung heroes who help make our communities stronger, kinder and more connected. Volunteers from across the shire were acknowledged, spanning all generations and sectors — from youth mentoring and community events to aged care, sports, the arts and emergency services.

A special preview screening of the upcoming Volunteers of Uralla Shire documentary offered a moving insight into the lives and motivations of some of our local volunteers, with heartfelt stories that captured the spirit of service and the importance of giving back.

Guests also enjoyed a grand morning tea generously provided by the Friends of McMaugh Gardens — a tribute in itself to the power of volunteer-led hospitality and care.

We extend our sincere thanks to all who attended, and especially to those who give their time so generously throughout the year.
