The last few weeks have been challenging for us all and this year’s Easter long weekend will be one like no other.

We would like to wish you all a happy and safe holiday and thank you, our community, for your response to this latest challenge that we are facing together.  It has been a tough few months for our Shire and we are so proud to be part of such a resilient and patient community.

The message and advice from both the Federal and State Governments in the last weeks is very clear; we must stay at home only going out with a very good reason unless for work, education, to shop for groceries and essential items, receive medical care or exercise.

When out please ensure to adhere by the social distancing and gathering restrictions in place.

We are a social and connected Shire and will need to continue to adapt to this new way of life for now.  Wish your neighbours a happy Easter and check in on how they’re doing by picking up the phone, dropping a note in their letterbox or even giving a yell out across the road.

This is a tough time for our amazing local businesses and we would encourage everyone to shop locally.  Our businesses are doing a fantastic job at adapting to what will be the new normal so order a gift, get a takeaway for dinner and sample some of our amazing local produce – all delivered to your door.

Council is still here to help so please do get in touch if you have any questions or are concerned about a neighbour we are here to support our community.  These times are changing quickly and we will do our best to keep you informed and updated.

We will get through this by staying connected and supporting each other.

Stay safe and have a relaxing long weekend at home,

 Mayor, Cr Michael Pearce
