Today we remember and pay tribute to all who have fought and made the ultimate sacrifice for our country.

Uralla’s Remembrance Day observances may not be ‘as usual’ this year, but we are all aware of the necessary changes to keep our communities safe across Australia. I am grateful the Uralla Shire community will be able to gather together today to pay our respects and commemorate the anniversary of Armistice Day.

The NSW Government’s exemption to COVID Safe guidelines allow up to 100 people to gather for Remembrance Day services, provided that physical distancing measures are followed and a COVID Safety Plan is in place.

Uralla’s Remembrance Day ceremony organised by the Uralla RSL Sub Branch will commence at the Alma Park Memorial Gates from 10:30am. I hope members of the community will join us to honour the service and sacrifice of our veterans.

Lest we forget.

Mayor, Cr Michael Pearce
