Mr Eric ‘Dicky’ Bird sadly passed away on Friday, 12 June 2020 aged 98 years old.

We believe that Dicky was probably Uralla’s last WWII veteran.  He served in the Royal Australian Navy during the War and finished his full time working life at the University of New England in Armidale.

Dicky was extremely active within the community, keen to help, keen for a chat, a cuppa and a biscuit or two.  He was also an active member of Uralla RSL Sub branch attending most meetings and other activities with the RSL members.

Dicky will be sadly missed by his family, friends, the Uralla Community and his fellow Uralla RSL Sub branch members.

Rest in Peace, Erick ‘Dicky’ Bird.
