It’s Local Government Week this week and although our celebrations look a little different this year we can still acknowledge the integral role Council plays in the life of the Uralla Shire.

This year’s theme is “Councils Do” and aims to highlight the vital role we play in our community and the support and services we offer every day that make a difference to people’s lives. With so many of us experiencing a very challenging year I am particularly proud of the role Council plays within our community.

Local Government week is the perfect time for people across our Shire to learn more about what their Council offers.

We provide services to the community across 32 areas including aged care and disability services, roads and footpaths maintenance, bushland regeneration, library services, kerbside waste collection and recycling, visitor information, youth activities, companion animal services, and water and sewer services to name a few.

With over 180 dedicated staff members we also reach far beyond these services to help create the fantastic community we live in.

If you’d like to learn more about the services provided by Uralla Shire Council and councils across NSW please visit our website here.

Mayor, Cr Michael Pearce
