Community groups across Uralla Shire receive Council grant funding

Community groups in Uralla Shire have received a boost for their events, projects or initiatives thanks to Uralla Shire Council’s community grants programs.

More than $6,000 of funding was approved at Uralla Shire Council’s Ordinary Meeting of Council on the 22nd September as part of Round One of the 2020-2021 Community Grants Program.

Funding is offered across multiple categories including community development, arts and cultural development, social services, environmental initiatives, sport and recreational activities and educational support.

The recipients for Round One of the group program are:

  • Uralla Neighbourhood Centre for the Uralla Garden Project.
  • Kentucky Progress Association for the Kentucky Park Reserve fencing project.
  • St Joseph’s Catholic School Uralla for the upgrades to the school car park.

Uralla Shire Council Mayor Cr Michael Pearce, said the Council was proud of the Community Grants program which supports groups to strengthen the local community.

“We are pleased to be able to offer the Kentucky Progress Association, Uralla Neighbourhood Centre and St Joseph’s Catholic School funding for these community focused projects.”

“Council voted unanimously to support these community projects at the last Ordinary Meeting of Council.”

Round Two of Council’s Community Grants program will open for applications during February 2021. Individuals can also apply for a Community Grant of up to $300 at any time of year, provided that the application is submitted at least four weeks prior to the commencement of the project or activity and meets the funding criteria.
