Seniors Celebrated at Mayoral Morning Tea

Uralla Shire Council welcomed local seniors at a Mayoral Morning Tea held at Council Chambers on Wednesday 14 April.

In attendance were 10 representatives from service organisations based in the Uralla Shire, along with three Councillors and three Council staff members.

A broad discussion was enjoyed alongside the refreshments.

“The Morning Tea, which we scheduled to coincide with Seniors Week, was a great opportunity to acknowledge and thank those who have offered a lot to their community in the many years they have been a part of it,” said Mayor Pearce.

“The guests, hailing from our strong local service groups such as Rotary, Lions, CWA, The Elders Group, Friends of McMaugh Gardens – they are the very fabric of our Shire and are responsible for the Uralla Shire Community being as strong and wonderful as it is,” said Mayor Pearce.

“Whether it’s organising events, providing support for those in need or a creative endeavour, our Seniors are the backbone of the community and I thank those who were able to join us here at the Council Chambers today.”

The Seniors Week festival runs from 13-24 April 2021. Other activities Council is hosting includes webinars on digital literacy and an author workshop.
