Shining a Light on Uralla’s Volunteers in New Documentary!
Published on 13 May 2025
Uralla Shire Council will host a premiere screening of a new documentary at the Uralla Court House on Friday 23 May, shining a light on the incredible volunteers in our community.
The documentary, which will screen as part of National Volunteers Week, features interviews with over 30 inspirational community members, representing more than 50 local community groups, who share their stories and experiences.
The result is a powerful, uplifting short film that pays tribute to the volunteers who keep the heart of our Shire beating. It tells stories of resilience, generosity, humour, and hard work — all delivered in the unmistakable voices of the people who live and give locally.
Uralla Shire Mayor, Robert Bell, said the documentary is a chance to highlight those in our community who give so much.
“Volunteers are the quiet strength of our community — they show up, step up, and make life better for everyone around them. This documentary is our chance to acknowledge them and share their stories far and wide,” he said.
All are welcome to attend this free premiere documentary screening, especially those involved in community organisations or volunteering across Uralla Shire.
