Watch Volunteers from the Shire
Published on 26 June 2025
We are excited to release a new locally made documentary called Volunteers from the Shire.
Commissioned by Council to celebrate National Volunteers Week, this 30-minute documentary first premiered at the Uralla Court House on Friday 23 May, with two sold out preview screenings. The full documentary is now available to view online.
Volunteers from the Shire features 30 inspirational locals who were interviewed about their community volunteering. Over several weeks, the film crew explored all corners of Uralla Shire, shining a light on more than 50 local volunteer organisations as just a small sample of the many groups who are active in our community.
You can also see the documentary screening at the Uralla Library until Saturday 29th June.
The documentary will also feature in the upcoming Far South Film Festival, which showcases stories told by regional and remote filmmakers from around Australia.
We would like to thank and acknowledge all of the incredible volunteers and community groups from across Uralla Shire for everything you do in our community.
