Water Security Strategy Kicks Off with Technical Workshop
Published on 13 May 2025
Community members are invited to attend the first of three planned technical workshops as part of the development of an Integrated Water Cycle Management Strategy for the Shire.
The first workshop will be held at the Uralla Court House on 18th June from 9am - 3pm, with an option to attend online. NSW Public Works will present two key reports: the Issues Paper, outlining current challenges in Uralla and Bundarra’s water and sewerage systems, and the NARCLiM 1.5 Secure Yield Modelling Report, exploring long-term water security for both supply schemes. This presentation will provide valuable insights into the current state of our water systems and help guide future planning.
After the presentation, there will be a Q&A session for community input and discussion with technical experts, ensuring that local perspectives are considered in the planning process.
A community consultation program commences mid-year on potential water management options and will include pop-up events, public meetings, and a survey. Your input will help shape our Shire’s future water and wastewater 30-year strategy, ensuring a sustainable water future for both Uralla and Bundarra.
Registrations are essential. Please indicate whether you would like to attend in person or online. To register, email council@uralla.nsw.gov.au or phone 6778 6300.
This project is funded by the NSW Department of Climate Change, Energy, Environment and Water under the Safe and Secure Water Program.
