Community Consultation: Renaming of Hampden Park

Council is seeking community feedback on the proposed change to the name of Hampden Park.

Council has received a proposal from the Uralla Historical Society to rename Hampden Park to “Sunny Jim Mackay Park” in commemoration of Australian cricketer James Rainey Munro “Sunny Jim” Mackay (1880 – 1953).

The proposal to rename the park is now on public exhibition and Council invites the community to complete a survey and provide feedback on the proposed name change.

Paper copies of the survey are also available for collection at Council’s Customer Service Centre and the Uralla Library.

The survey will be open until 5:00pm on Monday, 26 April 2021.

Surveys must be completed either through the link above or can be returned to Council’s Customer Service Centre or at the Uralla Library.

Submissions on the proposed name change must be made in writing and can be submitted by email to council@uralla.nsw.gov.au or by letter to the General Manager at PO Box 106, Uralla NSW 2358.

Submissions close 5:00pm on Monday, 26 April 2021.
