At its Ordinary Meeting on 29 April 2025, Council resolved to place the Councillor Expenses and Facilities Policy on public exhibition.
The objective of this policy is to ensure that there is legislative compliance, accountability, and transparency in the payment of expenses incurred or to be incurred by Councillors. It is also drafted to ensure that Councillors are not financially disadvantaged in undertaking their civic duties.
The Local Government Act 1993 requires that Council adopt a Policy on payment of Councillor Expenses and the provision of facilities to Councillors within 12 months of the term of a new Council.
The Draft Policy will be available for public review until 11 June 2025.
