We provide many essential services to the community and will minimise disruptions to these services as much as possible, however certain changes have been implemented to ensure the health and wellbeing of the Uralla Shire community and staff.

Road, bridge, and infrastructure maintenance services continue as usual.

Waste and Recycling services at Landfill and Recycling Centres/ Transfer Stations

Services continue as usual at the Uralla and Bundarra Landfill and Recycling Centres and Transfer Stations across the Shire.

No cash payments or transactions at the Uralla Waste Management Centre.

Ranger/Animal Control services

Services continue as usual.

Parks and Reserves

Open to public

Parks and Reserves remain open and accessible by the public, however visitors must observe social distancing practices.

Playgrounds, outside gyms and skate parks

Since 15 May 2020

Outdoor playgrounds and gym equipment will reopen with residents encouraged to use caution when using the equipment including to:

  • Wash your hands before and after you use this equipment.
  • Assume the person who has used the equipment before you has the virus.

Do not go out into the community if you’re feeling unwell and maintain physical distancing.

Remember that gatherings in public are limited to no more than 20 persons.

Customer Service

Open to public

Our customer service is open with measures in place to protect our community and staff.  We ask customers to please adhere to the following precautions:

  • Only 2 customers or households may enter at the one time with physical distancing measures in place.
  • Please sanitise your hands on arrival and exit.
  • Keep a respectable distance of 1.5m from staff and other customers in waiting.

Uralla Library

Open to the public since
1 June 2020

We ask library users to adhere to the following precautions:

  • Physical distancing and building capacity limits will apply
  • Customers must practice good hygiene and use hand sanitiser when entering
  • Customers will need to provide their contact details to staff members upon entry
  • Library staff will provide assistance, but only within physical distancing requirements
  • Due to social distancing requirements and number limits some library programs and activities not currently available.

The Uralla Library is open Mondays through Saturdays for customers to borrow, return resources and for the registration of new memberships. Please visit our Library page for current hours.

Vulnerable members of our community, including those aged over 60 years are invited call the library on 6778 6470 and book a 30 minute individual visit between 1.30pm and 4.30pm on Saturdays. Carers are welcome.

A Print and Collect service will be operating so customers can email through important/essential documents and library staff will print and organise collection of documents.

Online services are through the Central Northern Regional Library’s eLibrary at www.cnl.nsw.gov.au includes:

  • Beamafilm - Videos and Movies

The exterior returns chute remains open at all times.

Uralla Visitor Information Centre

Open to the public
Since 1 June 2020

To help keep everyone safe on their visit we ask customers to:

  • Keep a respectable distance of 1.5m from staff and other visitors.
  • Adhere to a 3 group capacity inside the Visitor Information Centre.
  • Follow the way finding signs to enter and exit and sanitise your hands on arrival.

Development Applications
Operational

Face to face services for Development Applications are now available at Council's customer service centre.

Uralla Street Store

Reopen for use by community groups as of Monday, 1 June 2020

Community groups are able to once again utilise the Uralla Street Store. For more information, please call 02 6778 6300.

Community activities, workshops, training events

Activities, workshops and training has recommenced with COVID Safe measures in place.
Meetings with Council staff
Operational

In-person meetings have recommenced with COVID Safe measures in place. Council staff will utilise phone and/or online meetings whenever possible.

Meetings with Council staff must be made in advance and visitors to the Council Administration Building must register and sign in upon arrival.

Sporting Complex and Recreational Facilities
Limited bookings available.

Limited bookings and use is available within current COVID public health guidelines.

Booking of Council Facilities

Limited bookings available from 1 July 2020.

The Community Centre is taking bookings for groups within current COVID public health guidelines.

Please provide your COVID Safe Plan to staff at the time of booking.

Tablelands Community Support

Limited restrictions from 1 June 2020.

My Aged Care referrals for TCS are open except for group social support.

Tablelands Community Transport

Limited restrictions from 1 June 2020.

Transport services are still  exclusive of group social support.

McMaugh Gardens Aged Care Facility

All non-essential access to the facility has ceased as of 18 March 2020.

The following restrictions apply:

  • Visits are limited to a short duration
  • Visits are limited to a maximum of two visitors at one time once per day. These may be immediate social supports (family members) or professional support (General Practitioner)
  • Visits are to be in the residents room and visitors are not to visit other residents or access communal areas
  • There are no large groups visits or gatherings permitted
  • Children aged 16 years or less are not to visit except by special arrangement with the manager

Measures such as phone or video calls are accessible for all residents to enable regular communication with family.

Family members that are visiting need to be aware they will have their temperature checked and will need to answer a number of questions – if their temperature is elevated or any of the questions apply, they will not be permitted to enter

From 1 May 2020, anyone working in or visiting a residential aged care facility will need to provide evidence of current 2020 Influenza Vaccination.

 

Council Meetings

The health and safety of our community is our first priority and we are closely monitoring the advice and adhering to the directives from the Government and public health authorities.

Until further notice and consistent with current directions related to physical distancing and COVID Safe guidelines measures will be taken for our Ordinary and Extraordinary Meetings of Council to be held in Council Chambers.
