Council approves additions and alterations to Foodworks Uralla

Uralla Shire Council yesterday approved a development application by Foodworks Uralla to make additions and alterations to the supermarket at the August Ordinary Meeting of Council.

After considered debate and presentations as part of the public forum of the meeting Councillors voted in favour of the development application subject to conditions of consent.

Uralla Shire Council Mayor, Cr Michael Pearce stated that after a long process it was a great outcome for the community.

“Myself and the Councillors have undertaken a thorough process when making this decision including paying particular attention to the views and opinions of our community.

“As a Council we are committed to our mission to create a unique environment offering excellent quality of life and economic opportunities for its people.

“I am confident that we will work together as a Council to take the next steps forward in this process with the applicant,” Mayor Pearce said.

The development application proposes additions and alterations to the Uralla Foodworks supermarket including the addition of a new car park. The application was lodged on 18 November 2019 and has been debated at several Ordinary Meetings of Council since May 2020.
