Library Activities and Programs

Please Note:

Some activities are facilitated by volunteers and some activities require minimum numbers, have maximum attendance numbers or require parental supervision for junior members. Please contact Uralla library to book to avoid disappointment and to ensure the safety of junior members.

Unless the activity is a designated school holiday program or activity where children are registered, are under staff/volunteer direction and supervision and have parental permission, library staff/volunteers are not responsible for the care and supervision of unaccompanied junior members or junior visitors.

All activities and events unless otherwise indicated are FREE for library members.

Artist of the Month

This program is designed to assist emerging and established local artists to showcase and sell their artwork, each month a local artist will be featured within the library foyer. The exhibition will be open to the public during library hours and is free of charge.  If you are interested in participating, please contact the Uralla Library for details and an application form. Community Display Cabinet

Uralla Library has a display cabinet available for individuals, community groups and non-profit Uralla community organisations. Phone 6778 6470 or email library@uralla.nsw.gov.au to book.

Book Discussion Group

Do you enjoy reading, meeting people and sharing your ideas and opinions about books and authors? If so, join us at Uralla Library from 2:00pm on the third Monday of every month for a lively and inclusive discussion for adults. New members are always welcome. Copies of the current book of the month are available to borrow or download from the library.

Children’s Story Time

Story time offers singing, reading, and age-related craft experiences for preschool aged children. Join us at the Uralla Library every Tuesday during term time at 10:30am. Babies are very welcome for story time component.

Housebound Service

The Uralla Library Housebound Service delivers books to people who are physically unable to visit the library. Members can call the library for books they wish to borrow, and the Housebound Service provides free delivery of the books to their homes. Deliveries are restricted to Uralla township. Arrangements can be made for carers to pick up books from the library on a member’s behalf.

Craft Catchup and Knattering Knitters

Visit Uralla library Saturdays at 10:00am to meet friendly locals in a relaxed and casual environment. Help each other learn, design and produce a variety of wonderful creations. An entertaining and eclectic morning of craft, conversation and coffee – all experience levels welcome.
